The Minister of State in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, affirmed that Doha stands with the legitimate government and the Sudanese Armed Forces in facing the challenges in the country.

Al-Muraikhi made the remarks during a meeting with the President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in Khartoum yesterday, according to press statements by the Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin.

Al-Amin added that the Qatari minister expressed his hope that peace would prevail throughout Sudan, indicating that Doha supports every sincere initiative aimed at achieving this.

He also explained that during the meeting, Al-Burhan “expressed his appreciation and the appreciation of the Sudanese people for the sincere positions of the State of Qatar and its leadership in support of the government and people of Sudan.”

Since mid-April 2023, violent battles have been taking place between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti”, which has resulted in the death and injury of tens of thousands, and the displacement of millions.
