Telephone and internet services are down in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin due to action by the so-called Israel Defence Forces, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.
According to the Palestinian Telecommunications Company (Paltel) and Ooredoo Group, the connectivity failure was caused by the latest Israeli “aggression” in Jenin, which has damaged their main and backup lines in the area.
Technical crews from the telecommunications companies have been working hard since yesterday to restore services as quickly as possible, despite the difficult situation on the ground.
In a related issue, the central operations room of the Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed that its contact with the Jenin ambulance centre and all of its local crews was lost today due to their being no phone and internet services or any alternative wireless means of communication.
