Indonesian medical team joins UAE field hospital in Gaza

An Indonesian medical team has joined the Emirati Integrated Field Hospital in Gaza as part of ‘’Operation Chivalrous Knight 3”, in a move that strengthens international cooperation in the delivery of healthcare services to wounded Palestinians in the besieged Strip, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The Indonesian medical team began providing advanced medical services to wounded Palestinians by conducting medical examinations on a number of people suffering from severe injuries, including multiple fractures and burns of varying severity, cooperating closely with UAE medical professionals to determine the best treatment procedures, WAM added.

According to the news wire, the close cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia “comes in the context of the ongoing efforts made by the UAE field hospital, which has achieved remarkable milestones in providing medical care to those in need in Gaza.”

WAM said that since November, the UAE field hospital has treated more than 47,000 patients, and performed more than 17,000 surgeries.

On 5 November, the UAE launched “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3” to provide aid to Gazans, which included the transfer of food and shelter, the establishment of a field hospital, and the construction of water desalination plants.
