The Israel occupation forces (IOF) detained more Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank on Monday night and Tuesday morning, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.

According to local sources, the IOF detained eight Palestinian citizens from their homes in Qalqilya after deploying snipers on an apartment building near the Abu Ali Ziyad Plaza and raiding a cemetery in the city. Another citizen was taken prisoner following an IOF raid in Azzun to the east of Qalqilya.

In the Bethlehem area, Israeli forces took away three citizens from Wadi Freiha, Teqoa and Beit Fajjar. Local sources in Bethlehem said that the IOF set up several security cameras near the main entrance of Beit Sahour.

In Al-Khalil, the IOF took three citizens from their homes in Sa’ir. Two other young citizens were assaulted and taken away by Israeli forces in Al-Fawwar refugee camp. The IOF also detained a resident of Tamun in Tubas as he was on his way to work.

In Nablus, meanwhile, a large number of Israeli troops stormed Balata refugee camp and fought against local youths in Al-Souk Street. Israeli soldiers also stormed and rampaged through the campus of Birzeit University in Ramallah, where they reportedly confiscated personal belongings and publications related to student activities. The soldiers put up notices on the university’s walls threatening to destroy the students’ future if they participated in student activities.

According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) on Tuesday, the IOF had detained at least 22 citizens during raids in the occupied West Bank and occupied Jerusalem in the latest raids.

Over 10,400 Palestinian citizens from the West Bank and Jerusalem have been detained or jailed since Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip started 11 months ago, according to the Commission and PPS.
