Israel’s former defence minister and leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party, Avigdor Lieberman, has called on the army to destroy all villages in southern Lebanon by air then take control of the area to create a buffer zone.
Lieberman claimed, in a post on X, that destroying all Lebanese villages near the border will ensure the Israeli soldiers’ safety.
In a statement on Saturday, the Israeli occupation army said it had recalled three battalions of reserve forces to reinforce the defence of the Central Command amid the escalation of the conflict with Lebanon’s Hezbollah group and a possible ground invasion of southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported that Israeli forces on the Lebanese border confirmed their readiness for a ground invasion of Lebanon, noting that military traffic has increased on the highways to northern Israel and near the border with Lebanon.
