The United Arab Emirates has unexpectedly suspended visa issuance for Jordanians, according to multiple complaints by citizens in the past few days, Roya news agency reported today.

Travel and tourism agencies have informed clients that they are currently unable to process visa applications for the UAE.

A source familiar with the matter told Roya that the UAE visa suspensions came without an official statement.

The source attributed the issue to what they called a “system malfunction” – as informed by the UAE authorities.

In their communications with clients, travel agencies stated: “We regret to inform you that all visa applications for UAE from Jordanian citizens are currently being rejected. We are awaiting further clarification from the UAE immigration authorities regarding this matter.”

As a result, these agencies have temporarily stopped processing visa applications for Jordanian citizens until more information becomes available and the situation is resolved.
