Yemen’s Houthi group, known as Ansar Allah, yesterday announced that it targeted the industrial zone in the settlement of Ashkelon, southern Israel, using several drones, Anadolu reported citing the group’s military spokesperson, Yahya Saree.
Saree stated in a televised statement that the group had “carried out a qualitative military operation targeting the industrial area of the Israeli enemy in Ashkelon, located near the occupied Gaza Strip.” He added that the operation was executed using drones that successfully reached their intended targets.
He warned that the group would ” continue its military operations in retaliation for the actions of the Zionist enemy in Gaza and Lebanon, and will not stop until the aggression against Gaza and Lebanon ends and the blockade on Gaza is lifted.”
Israel reported detecting three drones yesterday, two of which it claimed were launched from Lebanon and one from Yemen.
The Israeli military said: “Regarding the drone that fell earlier today in an open area of Ashkelon (south), it was launched from Yemen.”
