The Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine has called on Britain to “immediately stop supporting Israel in its war of genocide against the Palestinian people”, Anadolu reported.
In a letter sent that was handed to the British Embassy in Rabat, the group said it held Britain “responsible for war crimes, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people 107 years after the ominous Balfour Declaration.”
The Moroccan Front called on Britain to shoulder its responsibility and use its position in international forums and UN institutions to stop the Israeli aggression against the peoples of the region, especially in the Gaza Strip.
It pointed out that Britain is a partner in the genocide as it supplies Israel with weapons and provides it with political and media support. It also called on the UK to apologise for the Balfour Declaration.
The Balfour Declaration is a letter sent in 2 November 1917 by then-British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Lionel Walter Rothschild – a leader of the Zionist movement at the time – in which he said the British government “views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.”
The government, Balfour goes on to promise, “will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object.”
