Hamas yesterday condemned Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s statement in which he said the occupation state will annex the West Bank in 2025.
The movement said: “The announcement by the terrorist Finance Minister Smotrich today regarding his moving forward with implementing a plan to extend Zionist control over the West Bank and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, decisively confirms the colonial intentions of the occupation, and its denial of our people’s national rights, as well as refutes the claims of those who are delusional about achieving peace and coexistence with this Nazi entity.”
Earlier, Smotrich said: “I have instructed the Settlement Division in the Ministry of Defence and the Civil Administration to begin professional and comprehensive work to prepare the necessary infrastructure for applying sovereignty,” according to Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

Hamas reiterated that “the Palestinian people and the resistance factions will continue to confront the occupation’s plans and will not allow them to be implemented.”
“We will not allow the terrorist Smotrich and other Zionist war criminals to implement any of their malicious plans, which will not grant them legitimacy on our occupied lands, and will not change the facts of history, which is that the West Bank is purely Palestinian land and an integral part of our independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
The movement called on “the Arab League, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations to take effective action to stop these policies and plans that will only increase tension and escalation at the regional and international level.”
