Paris police chief, Laurent Nunez, has announced a ban on displaying the Palestinian flag during the football match between France and Israel tomorrow. The match will take place under heightened security measures.
Nunez stated that only the French and Israeli flags will be allowed at the stadium. Fans attending the match will undergo double security checks, including two identity verifications.
Israel has urged their citizens to avoid attending the match.
These strict French security measures follow tensions in Amsterdam, where fans of the Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv made racist chants against Arabs, vandalised private property and attacked Arab taxi drivers ahead of their game against Ajax.
