The Yemeni Houthi group announced on Tuesday evening the launch of two military operations described as “qualitative” in the Red and Arabian Seas that lasted eight hours, targeting an aircraft carrier and two US destroyers.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed in a televised statement: “The Yemeni armed forces (affiliated with the group) carried out two qualitative military operations in the Red and Arabian seas that lasted 8 hours and achieved their goals. The first operation targeted the American aircraft carrier Abraham in the Arabian Sea with a number of cruise missiles and drones.”
“The aircraft carrier was targeted while the American enemy was preparing hostile operations targeting our country,” he added.
The second operation, according to Saree, targeted: “Two American destroyers in the Red Sea with missiles and drones.”
Saree asserted: “The aggression against Yemen is taking place within the framework of the American-British defence of the Israeli enemy and will only lead to more operations. The operation was launched in defence against the injustice to the Palestinian and Lebanese people and in support of their resistance.”
The group’s spokesperson stressed that the Houthi operations against Israel: “Will not stop until the attacks stop, the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted and the aggression on Lebanon ends.”
