President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Wednesday, he would be ready to work with Elon Musk in the technology sector if they have a chance to collaborate, after a “friendly discussion” with the billionaire last year in the Turkish House, Anadolu News Agency reports.
Trump’s administration, on Tuesday, hired Musk for a position focused on building a more effective government, further empowering the world’s wealthiest man who paid thousands of dollars to help him win election.
“Musk voted for Trump this election, but we want to see that he is a man who works in space and technology,” Erdogan told reporters on the flight home from Baku.
“He is a tech-buff and he has taken things very seriously,” he said. “You don’t develop technology by yourself; you absolutely need a bit of help.”
“If cooperation opportunities arise in this area, action can be taken with Musk,” Erdogan was quoted as saying.
Erdogan also said he had met with Musk last year in New York, during the UN General Assembly, and introduced his son to the Turkish leader.
