Israel’s occupation forces killed another Palestinian at dawn today during a raid on the Balata refugee camp outside Nablus in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported. The man was named by local sources as Jihad Abu Salim, 27.
A statement from Shuhada Al-Aqsa Brigades in Balata mourned the “martyr who was killed while confronting the Zionist enemy forces during their raid at the camp.”
According to eyewitnesses, the occupation regime troops stormed into the refugee camp amid heavy gunfire. The Palestine Red Crescent Society provided first-aid to two elderly Palestinians who were beaten “brutally” by the Israeli soldiers and rushed them to hospital.
The occupation forces launched a raid yesterday on Bazariya village, to the north west of Nablus, where they shot one Palestinian and detained two others. The soldiers fired volleys of live ammunition, concussion grenades and teargas canisters towards local youths who were protesting against the raid.
