Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, yesterday called for the establishment of “permanent checkpoints” on roads in occupied the West Bank.
In a post on X, the far-right leader of the Jewish Power Party said: “I renew my constant demand for permanent checkpoints on the roads of Judea and Samaria [the occupied West Bank] and for providing safe roads for the residents of the Palestinian Authority.”
He added: “The right of Israeli citizens to life takes priority over the freedom of movement for the residents of the Palestinian Authority.”
In parallel with the ongoing assault on Gaza, the Israeli occupation army and settlers have intensified attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, killing at least 809 Palestinians and injuring approximately 6,450 more, according to official data.
