The French army targeted Daesh positions in Syria over the weekend, the country’s defence minister said today according to Anadolu.
“Our armies remain engaged in the fight against terrorism in the Levant,” Sebastien Lecornu wrote on X.
He recalled that the French army has contributed to the international coalition, ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’, since 2014 in Iraq and 2015 in Syria.
“On Sunday, French aerial means proceeded to strike against Daesh positions on Syrian soil,” Lecornu said.

The Ministry of Defence told AFP that France’s Rafale fighter jets and US-made Reaper drones “dropped a total of seven bombs on two military targets belonging to Daesh in central Syria.”
