Hamas said that the Palestinian Authority’s security forces’ move to fire at a resistance vehicle in northern Tulkarm marks a dangerous escalation and aligns with Israeli policies aimed at eradicating the resistance and undermining the Palestinian cause.
In a press statement received by Al-Resalah Net, Hamas called on sensible figures within the Palestinian Authority and the Fatah movement to intervene, urging them to restrain the security forces from targeting the Palestinian people and their resistance. The movement also called for Palestinians to unite behind the resistance as a strategic choice.
Hamas highlighted the continued actions of the security forces in the occupied West Bank, including the targeting of members of the resistance and yesterday’s attack on a Palestinian vehicle in the town of Attil, north of Tulkarm, where three resistance members were injured, one critically.
The statement further described this behaviour as a betrayal of national principles and traditions upheld by the Palestinian people throughout their struggle against the Israeli occupation.
Hamas also stressed the need to reform the security doctrine of these forces and unite behind the resistance as the only viable path to end the occupation.
In recent weeks the Palestinian Authority’s security forces have waged a campaign against the resistance in the occupied West Bank, with critics claiming that it is carrying out the work of the occupation against its own people.
