A group of 14 doctors of various nationalities arrived in Gaza yesterday in collaboration with the organisation Rahma Worldwide to assist the wounded and sick amid ongoing Israeli attacks that have persisted for 15 months.

Shadi Zaza, head of the organisation, stated during a press conference in Gaza: “Twelve surgeons and two physicians have arrived to support the people of the region.”

“We are here to send a humanitarian message and to shed light on the dire circumstances residents face due to severe shortages of medicines and medical supplies.”

Zaza emphasised that the doctors are participating in a humanitarian mission aimed at alleviating suffering, expressing concern over the worsening health and living conditions caused by the blockade and continued violence.

He further explained that Gaza is grappling with the spread of epidemics and famine, which have led to children dying from hunger and cold.

He stressed the urgent need to end Israel’s bombing campaign and improve living conditions for Palestinians.

“The doctors have come to help ease the suffering of Gaza’s residents, as a gesture of solidarity with the oppressed,” Zaza noted.

He called for the urgent delivery of medicines and medical supplies to Gaza to enable them to provide the necessary care for the injured and sick.

Hospitals in Gaza are also facing severe shortages of fuel needed to operate generators amid ongoing power outages, along with a lack of medicines and medical equipment due to insufficient aid.
