The Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said “the war in Sudan will not end unless the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) withdraw from civilian facilities and residential areas, and stop receiving political and military support from external countries.”
Speaking during a visit to Guinea-Bissau, Al-Burhan added: “Sudan’s foreign relations will be shaped by the positions of other countries regarding the ongoing war in Sudan.”
He emphasised that “Sudan is facing a systematic war involving multiple parties.”
The Sudanese people, he added, oppose negotiating with the Rapid Support Forces or involving them in Sudan’s political future.
He stressed the importance of resolving internal conflicts within African nations through African mechanisms, steering clear of external interventions. He also called for better utilisation of Africa’s abundant resources while rejecting foreign interference.
