Egypt’s population has reached 107.25 million, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced yesterday.

The figure was reported by the country’s population clock, prominently displayed on top of the CAPMAS building.

According to the latest data, Egypt’s population grew by 250,000 over the past 72 days. On 2 November 2024, the country’s population stood at 107 million.

Cairo is the most populous governorate in Egypt, with a population of 10.4 million. Giza is second with 9.7 million residents, followed by Sharqia with 8.1 million, Dakahlia with 7.2 million and Beheira with seven million.

“At the current fertility rate of 2.76 children per woman, Egypt’s population is projected to reach 117 million by 2030 and 157 million by 2050,” CAPMAS said last year.
