Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan yesterday congratulated Hamas on reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, stressing his country’s continued support for Palestine.
This came in a phone call with the head of the Hamas Shura Council, Mohammed Darwish Ismail, and members of the Hamas Political Bureau, according to sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Fidan expressed his hope that the agreement would benefit the Palestinian people, stressing that Turkiye will continue to support Palestine in all fields, especially in delivering urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza.
This comes after Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced in a press conference yesterday evening that a ceasefire deal had been agreed, noting that it will begin to be implemented on Sunday.
