The Houthi-led government in Sanaa has affirmed Yemen’s commitment to monitoring Israel’s adherence to the Gaza ceasefire, which took effect yesterday morning ending over 15 months of genocidal war waged by the US-backed occupation army.

In a statement, the Supreme Political Council expressed condolences to the families of martyrs in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and Iran, praising their sacrifices in the struggle for Jerusalem.

The council noted that “the Yemeni Armed Forces remain fully prepared and vigilant, ready to respond to any developments as part of their commitment to supporting the Palestinian people through all possible means.”

It also congratulated Palestinian prisoners set to be released under the agreement, attributing their freedom to divine grace, resistance fighters’ efforts, and unwavering steadfastness.

According to the Yemen Press Agency, the council commended Yemen’s armed forces and citizens for their enduring support of Palestine and pledged to maintain assistance toward “achieving full liberation from Zionist occupation.”

The council also expressed admiration for the resistance operations in Lebanon and Iraq and acknowledged Iran’s significant role in supporting the Palestinian cause.

The Houthi-aligned armed forces have been one of the few regional entities actively supporting the Palestinian resistance, implementing a naval blockade in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, while also carrying out drone and missile strikes targeting the occupation state, including Tel Aviv as recently as last week. These operations have incurred deadly and costly air strikes by Israel in addition to the US and Britain on key infrastructure sites.

On Saturday, the armed forces warned hostile forces in the Red Sea against launching an aggression on Yemen during the ceasefire period in Gaza. Army spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said that any aggression on the country will be responded to by military operations restricted by “no ceiling or red lines.”

The Houthi movement’s political bureau also hailed the ceasefire as a historic victory for the Palestinian resistance, achieved under the conditions set during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, which confirmed that “the enemy only understands the language of force and is only deterred by jihad.”
