The Israeli occupation army’s aggression against the occupied West Bank reflects its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “predicament” after failing to achieve any of his declared goals in the war on Gaza, the Islamic Jihad Movement said, Quds Press reported.
In a statement issued yesterday, the movement said the announcement by Netanyahu, who is wanted for war crimes and crimes against humanity, of the army’s operation in the occupied West Bank, “is nothing but a link in the chain of comprehensive genocide that the usurping entity is waging against our Palestinian people.”
“This brutal and barbaric aggression reflects the [Israeli] occupation’s predicament after its failure to achieve its goals in Gaza, in a desperate attempt to save its faltering government coalition thanks to the steadfastness of our people, and aims to spoil the atmosphere of joy experienced by our people in the West Bank after forcing the enemy to release many Palestinian prisoners and to compensate for the state of shock and pain prevailing in Israel,” the statement added.
Resistance fighters, it continued, across the occupied West Bank are fighting an unjust aggression and “the enemy will see nothing but strength from them, and will taste nothing but disappointment.”
The movement called on the Palestinian people throughout the occupied West Bank to confront this criminal campaign with all means and methods, thwart its goals, and consolidate the enemy’s defeat in the West Bank and in Gaza.
On Tuesday evening, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that eight Palestinians had been killed and 35 had been wounded in the Israeli aggression on Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank.
