The Governor of Blue Nile State, Lieutenant General Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, yesterday declaring a state of emergency.
According to reports by the Sudanese News Agency SUNA the decision stated that a curfew will be in place during the holy month of Ramadan from 10pm until 5am.
Earlier, the Sudanese government announced the killing of 433 civilians in attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on villages in the White Nile State in central Sudan.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a press statement: “After the militia became certain it would suffer a crushing defeat and would be unable to confront the armed forces, the militia resorted to its usual method of taking revenge on unarmed civilians in villages and small towns.”
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry called on the international community to take a firm stance towards the crimes committed by the RSF against civilians, saying that “this massacre confirms that the militia’s war is against the entire Sudanese population.
