The Lebanese group, Hezbollah declared on Sunday that Israeli threats “do not frighten” the movement, stressing that the resistance is fully prepared for any form of confrontation as cross-border tensions continue to escalate in southern Lebanon.

A series of recent statements by senior Hezbollah figures have carried pointed messages to Israel, the United States and the Lebanese public, amid growing domestic rhetoric targeting the party and intensified Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.

The statements underscored that the root cause of regional instability was the ongoing Israeli occupation of Palestine and its continued aggression, including its genocide in Gaza. Hezbollah leaders argued that attempts to blame the resistance for crises unrelated to the conflict amount to a distortion of facts in service of foreign agendas.

Speaking at a memorial ceremony held by Hezbollah at the Qaqaiyat al-Sanoubar Husseiniya, MP Rami Bou Hamdan of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc said that “the core of the conflict in the region remains the Israeli occupation of Palestine and its ongoing aggression.” He added that “some voices attempt to hold the resistance responsible for matters with which it has no connection, while the occupation remains the original sin that has generated all wars and tensions.”

Bou Hamdan said that Western states bear responsibility for establishing and protecting Israel, arguing that the consequences of an “illegitimate entity” have been felt across the region, from Palestine to Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.

He asserted that Lebanon has “the honour of standing firm in the face of aggression,” and that “the blood of martyrs and resistance fighters is what preserved the nation and ensured its stability.” Without these sacrifices, he said, “no one would have a position left.”

He further accused the United States of being a “full partner” in Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Palestine, Gaza and Syria. Referring to recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu identifying Hezbollah as the obstacle to “subjugating” Lebanon, Bou Hamdan said the comments “clearly reveal the extent of the targeting of the resistance and its role in protecting Lebanon.”
