Sudan’s Minister of Justice, Abdullah Darf, said the silence of the international community is paving the way for “continued suffering and repeated crimes” in the country.
He made the remarks during the seminar “Sudan: Prospects for Peace and the Future of the State,” held as part of the 23rd Doha Forum in Qatar’s capital, Doha, on Saturday and Sunday. The event was sponsored by the Emir of Qatar and supported by global media partners, including Anadolu Agency.
Darf stressed that a proper understanding of the conflict is essential to resolving the crisis, adding that what is happening in Sudan “is not an internal conflict.”
He placed responsibility on the Rapid Support Forces, saying: “This militia has committed many crimes since 15 April 2023.”
He also noted that the Rapid Support Forces “have been supported from abroad, openly receiving weapons, and include mercenaries from neighbouring countries and even South America.”
