The chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, carried out a surprise inspection visit on Tuesday to several ministries in Khartoum State, assessing their readiness to resume work after returning from Port Sudan.

Al-Burhan visited the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during a meeting held by the minister, Ahmed Madawi, with the heads of public universities at the ministry’s offices in the Metal Tower.

During the visit, al-Burhan reviewed arrangements for relocating the ministry back to Khartoum and enquired about the welfare of its staff, as well as the progress of administrative and academic work at higher education and scientific research institutions, as state bodies gradually resume operations from the capital.

Madawi expressed appreciation for the attention shown by the presidency and the Sovereign Council chairman, saying the visit provided strong moral support and sent a clear message that the state is moving steadily towards restoring stability and reconstruction.

Al-Burhan also made a surprise visit to the alternative headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism in Khartoum. He was received by the ministry’s undersecretary, Graham Abdel Qader, along with senior administrative and media officials.
