Three Palestinians were killed on Thursday when an Israeli drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced civilians in southern Gaza, in the latest violation of last year’s ceasefire deal, according to a local emergency service, Anadolu reports.

The Gaza Civil Defense and Emergency Directorate said in a brief statement that the strike targeted a tent in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, killing three people at the scene.

Al-Mawasi has been designated by Israel as a so-called “safe zone,” yet it has continued to come under attack.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian child in a separate attack in the northern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

The Israeli army has killed more than 71,400 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 171,000 others in a brutal offensive since October 2023 that has left the enclave in ruins.

Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli army has continued its attacks, killing 424 Palestinians and wounding 1,189 others, according to the Health Ministry.
