Iran’s judiciary said Saturday several political activists, detained in recent weeks, have been conditionally released on bail pending the continuation of legal proceedings, Anadolu reports.

In a statement carried by Mehr News Agency, the judiciary said the releases came following the completion of initial investigations and after the detainees received formal warnings regarding “the nature of their actions and conduct.”

The statement said the individuals were freed “on an appropriate bail order and on a conditional basis” until judicial proceedings are concluded.

The judiciary added that in other cases involving detainees who had already received final court rulings, judicial sentences have been enforced, and those individuals are currently serving their prison terms.

No further details were provided regarding the number of activists released.

The latest wave of arrests comes weeks after protests in Iran that began peacefully over economic grievances but later turned violent, resulting in more than 3,000 deaths, according to official figures.

Iranian authorities accused the US and Israel of backing what they described as “rioting” and “terrorism.”
