The death toll from a bombing that struck a girls’ primary school in the southern Iranian city of Minab has risen to 160 students, with a further 95 injured, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency citing the city’s public prosecutor.
Iranian officials said the school was hit during an attack they attributed to Israel and the United States, while casualty figures continue to rise as rescue operations and medical assessments proceed.
Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irvani, earlier stated that more than 100 children had been killed in the strike that targeted civilians. He added that the number of victims was expected to increase due to the severity of injuries.

The school, located in Minab in Hormozgan province near the Persian Gulf coast, reportedly had around 170 students present at the time of the attack, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred amid a wider escalation after Israeli and US strikes targeted Tehran and several Iranian provinces on Saturday morning. Tehran subsequently announced the launch of a large-scale retaliatory operation involving missiles and drones directed at Israel and American military bases in the region.
No independent verification of the casualty figures has yet been released, and neither Washington nor Tel Aviv has issued immediate comment on the allegations.
