A majority of American Jews disapprove of the US war against Iran, according to a new Mellman Group survey released Monday, Anadolu reports.

The poll, conducted online between March 13 and March 23 among 800 registered American Jewish voters nationwide, found that 55% disapprove of the US strikes on Iran, compared to 32% who approve.

It also revealed that nearly 49% of the participants strongly disapprove of the military action.

Meanwhile, it showed that 74% of Jewish Democrats disapprove of the war, while 83% of Jewish Republicans support it.

Women expressed stronger opposition than men, with 59% of Jewish women disapproving compared to 49% of Jewish men.

While 41% said they oppose the war because military action requires clear provocation and defined objectives, nearly one-in-four respondents said they feel “torn,” acknowledging Iran as a “threat” while questioning the current US approach.

Nearly three-quarters, 73%, said President Donald Trump should have sought congressional approval before launching the strikes, a view shared even by 29% of those who support the war.

It further revealed concerns over the war being conducted jointly with Israel, with 54% saying the partnership risks raising long-term questions about “the role of Israel and American Jews in U.S. foreign policy.”
