Iran has outlined four key conditions for ending the war with the United States and Israel, according to Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Russia.

In statements to Russia’s TASS news agency, Jalali said Tehran’s conditions include a complete and final cessation of aggression, the provision of objective guarantees to prevent any recurrence of war, full compensation for material and moral damages, and respect for Iran’s jurisdiction over the Strait of Hormuz to ensure maritime security.

He emphasised that while Iran values mediation efforts, peace depends on adherence to these commitments, adding that Tehran remains open to “constructive and sincere” initiatives aimed at restoring stability in the region.

Jalali stressed that any proposal for a ceasefire or long-term settlement must reflect realities on the ground and meet what he described as the legal and political requirements for a just peace.

He also reaffirmed that Iran would continue to exercise what it called its right to self-defence until the perceived source of threat is eliminated, noting ongoing coordination with strategic allies, including Russia.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that Iran’s leadership had approached Washington with a request for a ceasefire, describing the current Iranian leadership as “less hardline” than previous ones.

Trump stated that the United States would consider such a request once the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and maritime navigation is secured, adding that military operations would continue until those conditions are met.
