The Sudanese Armed Forces have announced that they have fully liberated the Magja area in Blue Nile state and killed dozens of members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
In an official statement, the army said: “Our forces have fully secured control over the Magja area, destroyed four combat vehicles belonging to the militia, killed dozens of its members, and captured a number of them.”
The operation is part of ongoing military efforts by the Sudanese army to secure Blue Nile state and push RSF forces out of areas they have controlled in recent months.
The statement did not provide further details on material or human losses on either side, nor did it specify when the operation began, saying only that it had achieved its stated objectives.
Sudan has been witnessing an armed conflict between the armed forces and the RSF since April 2023. The fighting has left thousands of civilians dead and forced large numbers of people to flee their homes across several states, while regional and international efforts continue to secure a lasting ceasefire between the two sides.
