Former Israeli military chief and War Cabinet member Gadi Eisenkot has called for an immediate halt to reported Qatari aid transfers exceeding $100 million to the Gaza Strip during the war, demanding an investigation into how the funds were transferred.

In an interview with Israeli outlet Channel 7, Eisenkot said he had been unaware of the reported transfers despite participating in Security Cabinet meetings for eight months.

He said he had learned of the matter only on Sunday and called for an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the transfers.

Eisenkot described the reports as an “earthquake,” according to the Israeli outlet, and demanded that authorities establish how the transfers were arranged and identify the parties responsible for overseeing them.
