Yemen’s Houthi group has targeted King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh with a ballistic missile, the group’s military spokesman said.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the missile scored a “direct and accurate” hit on the airport.
He also said the group had targeted gatherings of Saudi-backed government forces in the Ras al-Ara and Al-Mudharaba areas with three ballistic missiles, claiming the strikes had caused a large number of deaths and injuries and damaged several military vehicles.
The Houthis also targeted Aramco facilities in Dhahran, in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, and an Aramco refinery in Riyadh, Saree said. The attacks followed threats issued on Tuesday in response to any strike on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

He said the operation involved a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, claiming the strikes had caused destruction and fires at the targeted sites.
Saree said attacks deep inside Saudi Arabia would continue in the coming days, targeting airports and oil facilities.
The Houthis renewed their warning to international shipping companies, as well as civilians and workers at the airports and facilities, urging them to stay away and evacuate immediately, saying the sites had become “legitimate targets”.
