A website affiliated with Palestinian armed groups’ security networks has warned of increased Israeli intelligence activity in the Gaza Strip ahead of Israel’s parliamentary elections scheduled for 27th October, raising concerns about possible targeted assassinations.

On Sunday, Al-Majd Security, a website described as close to the security apparatus of armed groups in Gaza, reported that field observations and intelligence assessments indicated heightened Israeli surveillance activity across the territory.

The website cited an increased presence of Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles, including surveillance drones locally known as zannana, as an indication of intensified intelligence operations.

It also reported that other drones had been observed flying at low altitudes near residential areas, prompting concerns about potential surprise attacks.

Al-Majd Security warned that the reported activity could precede Israeli operations targeting leaders, members and security personnel affiliated with Palestinian armed groups.

The website urged heightened vigilance and adherence to security precautions, particularly among armed group members and senior figures.

The warning comes amid threats attributed to Israeli military and security officials concerning possible operations against Palestinian armed group leaders inside Gaza and abroad.

According to the report, the head of Israel’s internal security agency, Shin Bet, has also threatened to carry out targeted assassinations both within and outside the Gaza Strip.

The website linked its concerns to the approaching Israeli elections.
