The Israeli army demolished the homes of two Palestinians accused of carrying out a shooting attack that killed two Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, Anadolu reports.

Israeli forces used explosives to destroy the two homes in the Ain Deir Baha area on Friday, according to local sources.

The Israeli military had accused the two Palestinians of carrying out an attack at a military checkpoint near the Farsh al Hawa area west of Hebron on October 23.

Two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the shooting, while Israeli forces killed the two suspected attackers, according to Israeli authorities.

The demolitions came as a large-scale Israeli military operation in Hebron entered its eighth consecutive day.

Israeli forces have imposed closures, carried out raids and arrests and demolished structures across parts of the city since the October 23 attack.

Hebron Municipality said on October 27 that 4,969 Palestinians from 780 families had been displaced from the Deir Baha and Al Jilda areas during the operation.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has said residents evacuated from parts of Hebron would not be allowed to return until the military completed operations against what Israel describes as Hamas infrastructure in the area.
