Air raid sirens sounded on Monday evening in Dimona and nearby areas in the Negev desert, in southern Israel, after a volley of missiles was launched from Iran.
The Israeli military said it had detected missiles fired from Iran and that its air defence systems were activated to intercept them.
It added that sirens were triggered in Dimona and surrounding areas, including the settlement of Yeruham in the Negev, following what it described as a limited barrage from Iran.

Later, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that air defences had successfully intercepted one missile in the area, with no injuries reported, according to the Anadolu Agency.
On Monday, the total number of people injured in Israel reached 4,773 since the offensive, initiated by Tel Aviv and Washington against Tehran, began in late February, prompting a response from Iran.
The Israeli-US aggression against Iran has continued since 28 February, while Tehran has responded by launching missiles and drones at Israel, as well as at what it said were “US bases and interests” in neighbouring Arab countries.
