
Aline de Oliveira Alencar
Aline de Oliveira Alencar is a researcher at the Center for Global Studies at the University of Brasília. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (2022), Germany; a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Brasília (2015); a BA in International Relations from the same university (2009); and a BA in Economics and Management from the University of Rouen (2008), France. She was a research assistant at the German Hanns Seidel Foundation for the Maghreb, in Tunis (2021). Her research interests include democratic transition, democratic backsliding, political parties, political ideologies, religious movements, political Islam, and politics and society in the Middle East and North Africa.
