    The American anti-Israel awakening

The renowned American newspaper The New York Times warned a few days ago about the rise of what it described as “right-wing antisemitism”, confirming the emergence of serious divisions among Republicans regarding their support for Israel and their stance toward Jews, in what marks a generational change in the traditional position of…

  • Reframing the terminology of war

    Reframing the terminology of war

In light of Israel’s continued return of hundreds of Palestinian bodies who were killed under torture, blindfolded, restrained, bearing marks of abuse and fatal gunshots, many of them so mutilated that they were interred as unidentified, it has become essential to reopen the file of mass abductions, torture, and extrajudicial…

American policy stands at the heart of major strategic shifts

We are living through an era defined by uncertainty and disorder within the international order, an impediment laid bare by Donald Trump’s rise to power in his current term. After decades of relatively stable American global dominance, the rivalry among great powers  has re-emerged, though it had been taking shape…

  • War unlikely to return to Lebanon and Gaza

War unlikely to return to Lebanon and Gaza

A return to war in southern Lebanon or Gaza now seems improbable, despite the fragile ceasefire in both regions. The United States, which brokered and enforced the truces, appears determined to give Israel the time and space to finish what it could not achieve on the battlefield. What Israel failed…

The dilemma of ending the war has reached its most critical juncture

Following the declaration of a cease fire in Gaza, a complex new reality has emerged on the ground regarding the governance of  the Strip. To begin with, the recent American plan for Gaza is marked by ambiguity and the absence of any clear provisions. Consequently, the most serious political and…

Will Trump’s plan bring an end to the war in Gaza?

There are clear signs that US President Donald Trump wants a deal as soon as possible. The simultaneous acceptance of Trump’s plan announced just days ago by both the Israeli government and Hamas signals a new development that could pave the way toward ending the war in Gaza. The negotiations,…

  • Trump’s Gaza Plan: Does it signal a shift in policy?

Trump’s Gaza Plan: Does it signal a shift in policy?

Several indicators surrounding the President Trump’s recent proposal to halt the war in Gaza were seen as reflecting possible new intentions and a serious move. While the plan itself still carries the familiar signs of American bias toward Israel, the initial Arab and Western acceptance of it, albeit with reservations…

  • A surge of recognition and a glimmer of hope

A surge of recognition and a glimmer of hope

The recent wave of international recognition for the state of Palestine is not the first of its kind, and it will not be the last, but it is undeniably different. This wave, coming from main Western capitals, at a time of immense human tragedy, carry a resonance that earlier gestures…

From cold peace to open tensions: Egypt-Israel relations tested

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s recent description of Israel as an “enemy” at the Doha summit marked a clear fracture in relations between the two countries, which had maintained a workable relationship for nearly half a century. Tensions have been mounting, particularly since the Gaza war that began about two…

The escalation against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank continues relentlessly at the hands of Israel’s government. Whether through the ongoing war in Gaza or the latest measures in the West Bank, this campaign lays bare the government’s true objectives: to shrink the Palestinian presence in Gaza, tighten its…

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister recently declared unwavering commitment to the vision of a “Greater Israel”. • Gaza changes the traditional balances in Europe, but who can stop the war?

Gaza changes the traditional balances in Europe, but who can stop the war?

From London to Madrid, Berlin to Dublin, hundreds of thousands are marching week after week demanding a cease-fire, recognition of Palestine, and accountability for Israeli actions. These are not fringe protests; they are reshaping political discourse and, in some capitals, bending the machinery of government. It’s a sound that refuses…

  • The invisible walls of Israel’s cyber occupation

The invisible walls of Israel’s cyber occupation

Under the shade of a white canvas tent near Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital, cameras lay scattered in the dust silent witnesses to the drone strike that killed Al Jazeera correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqa, along with several other cameramen. This was no chaotic accident in the fog of war. It…

Israel has not concealed its intention to…

  • The rigged deal

    The rigged deal

It seems that reaching a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire in Gaza is closer to being accomplished this time than ever before. The core terms of the deal have not differed much from those presented in previous attempts, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu often sabotaged by fabricating reasons…

  • No War in Ukraine

    No War in Ukraine

It seems that normalcy will soon come back to Europe, without a war, despite all the efforts the US and its Western allies have used to push Russia to the wall. The Western rumours that have been spread lately by the media about the timing of the Russian invasion of…

  • The election of Biden: Anything new for the Palestinians?

The election of Biden: Anything new for the Palestinians?

It is clear that the election of Joe Biden, the Democratic Party candidate for president of the US, would bring changes to the US domestic scene, but not necessarily to US policies toward the Palestinians. It is easy to notice the differences between the Democratic and Republican parties’ domestic programs,…

  • The Palestinian secretaries-general meeting – A possible turning point?

The Palestinian secretaries-general meeting – A possible turning point?

The Palestinian secretaries-general meeting that took place a few days ago in Ramallah and Beirut may have a better opportunity for success, compared to previous political reconciliation initiatives. Israel wants to control all of Palestine, with as few Palestinians there as possible

There is hardly anyone who does not know very well what Israel’s goal is in the occupied West Bank. It wants all of Palestine, including the West Bank. All statements and plans by Israeli leaders regarding annexation have to be viewed in this context. Subsequent Israeli governments have created, through…
