Danon accuses Palestinian Authority of funding terrorism

Israel's Deputy Minister of Defence Danny Danon has accused the Palestinian Authority of funding terrorism and is calling on the international community to immediately cease its assistance until the PA reverts from this path, which he says hurts coexistence, peace and stability in the region.

The accusation comes after Israeli radio quoted a Palestinian official explaining that all the prisoners released by Israeli within the framework of the current "peace" negotiations may be granted a special bonus of $5,000 from the PA in addition to a monthly salary ranging between 8,000 and 14,000 shekels, as well as other benefits. The official said the payments aim to make life easier for the former prisoners after the long years they spent in Israeli prisons.
