Hamas: Hollande's visit encourages Judaisation and settlements

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has considered the visit of French President Francois Hollande to occupied Jerusalem "as encouragement to the occupation to continue its crimes of Judaisation and settlements. It also lays the foundation for a dangerous phase of disregard for [Palestinian] rights."

Hollande begin's his three-day official visit to Israel today in occupied Jerusalem. He is also scheduled to visit the Palestinian Authority territories in the West Bank.

Dr Salah Bardawil, an official spokesperson for Hamas, said in a written statement that this visit "reflects the extent of the west's hypocrisy in its position towards the Palestinian issue". The visit comes at a time of unprecedented settlement expansion and demolition of Palestinian homes in contravention of Security Council resolutions.
