The Israeli Air Force attacked a Syrian military base in Latakia on Thursday, according to a US official.
The official, who preferred to remain anonymous, explained that the airstrike targeted Russian-made missiles that the Israelis believe were likely to be transported to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israeli media reported a huge blast on Thursday near Latakia, however the Israeli government has not confirmed the news of the attack.
