Intelligence reports claim that Israel has 80 nuclear warheads

The American Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, which publishes information about countries which possess unconventional weapons, claims that Israel is one of nine nuclear states in the world. The latest edition of the Bulletin says that Israel stands alongside the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, India, Pakistan and North Korea in the nuclear club.

The report was cited by Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, which commented that it is “surprising” that the list attached to the report did not show any change in the number of warheads that have been reported since 2004.

The report added that Israel is believed to have enough material for an additional 115 to 190 nuclear warheads. According to Yedioth Ahronoth, the data is based on US intelligence reports.
