Chief Palestinian negotiator warns that Israeli violations could damage peace talks

February 13, 2014 at 12:54 am

Chief Palestinian negotiator, Saeb Erekat, has warned that the Palestinians may not take part in the next round of peace talks with the Israelis in response to Israel’s plans to develop further settlements.

Erekat said that the Palestinian Authority was preparing to suspend its attendance at the second round of peace talks scheduled to be held this coming Wednesday.

Speaking to Israeli Radio, Erekat said that the PA was in contact with the international community and was trying to persuade more countries to follow the EU’s line and suspend investment with Israel, outside the green line.

Saeb Erekat also warned that if Israel expelled any of the prisoners due to be released, the PA would cancel the agreement relating to prisoners which had been developed under American sponsorship.
