The Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has left the Gaza Strip for the State of Qatar to meet with Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

Taher al-Nunu, a spokesman for the government, said to on Thursday that two important issues will be discussed during Haniyeh’s visit: “the first is reconciliation and the second relates to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.”

He explained that the Prime Minister will discuss Qatari-funded renovation projects which are to be implemented in the Strip, as well as a settlement. The talks take place after the Emir of Qatar’s speech at the Arab summit held in Doha recently.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani proposed to hold a mini-Arab summit in Cairo, with the participation of Fateh and Hamas. The target of this would be achieving reconciliation according to a limited timetable, forming a transitional government of independent members, and also reaching an agreement on the election date.

Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has recently visited Arab countries and Turkey.
