Livni calls for immediate political agreement with Palestinian Authority

Hatnua leader and would-be Israeli Justice Minister, Tzipi Livni, said on Tuesday that she wants to reach a political agreement with the Palestinian Authority immediately, noting that she knows who the heirs of the current leaders will be.

During the 13th annual Herzliya Conference, Livni said that she had decided to join the new government due to the urgent need to reach a political agreement with the Palestinians. She also said that she wants this agreement to be reached at the current time because she knows who the heirs of the present leaders will be.

During the conference organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy, Livni rejected calls to boycott negotiations with the Palestinians at current time due to the instability in the Arab world.

She said that attempting to halt the two-state vision over the changes in the Arab world looks like an animal halting upon seeing the lights of a coming vehicle.

To prove her point, Livni said that the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel has been maintained despite the rise to power of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
