Obama’s visit to the region has caused much anger on the Palestinian Street across the occupied territories, particular given that he is set to visit President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Street, this visit will result in nothing but devastation and destruction to the Palestinian people as US policy will not change and Obama will not demand any rights for the Palestinians. To the contrary, from the moment he landed in Tel Aviv, he announced that he was proud to have Israel as ally and strong friend in the region.

Palestine solidarity activists in the Gaza Strip came out in protest and objection to Obama’s visit condemning Mahmoud Abbas for meeting with him. They assert that this visit will not confer any rights on Palestinians or Palestinian prisoners who will remain in degradation and humiliation under their Israeli jailer.
