Ministry of Education announces 2012 Secondary Education exam results for Gaza and the West Bank

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education for Gaza and the West Bank has announced a 62.2 per cent overall pass rate in General Secondary Education examinations for 2011/2012.

In a joint press conference between Gaza and the West Bank, the Ministry’s deputy assistant in Ramallah, Jihad Zakarna, announced that of the 85,910 students across the occupied Palestinian territories who had entered for exams, 53,450 of them had passed.

This year, the Ministry announced the exam results according to the numbers who had sat successfully for examinations rather than according to the names of candidates as in previous years.
