The British Ambassador in Cairo has praised the crucial impact of Egypt’s revolution across the Middle East, especially in terms of political freedom and social justice. James Watt told a delegation of young Egyptians in Alexandria of Britain’s support for Egypt as one of its allies in the region. At the same time, he called upon the youth to learn from the British model for a society which depends on a social contract to provide harmony and justice for all, as well as protection for vulnerable groups and minorities.
Moreover, Mr Watt emphasized the importance of the “rule of law” principle, which he considers to be “an important factor for the future of Egypt”, as it guarantees that there will be no exploitation of the country’s natural wealth or low-paid workers.
