Summer University of Palestine

On the 25th July the first session of the annual Summer University of Palestine is due to begin in Lebanon. It is expected that around 500 people from all over the world will take part in this unique event organised by George Galloway and his Viva Palestina team.
 
With a specific focus on Palestine, the week long intensive course will cover issues on the history, geography and politics of the region. World renowned speakers who are expected to attend include Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein, Naomi Klein, Fadwa Barghouti, (the wife of jailed Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti), and Hizbullah spokesman Ibrahim Mousawi. In addition to lectures, workshops, visits to refugee camps, sports and cultural events, plans for going forward with worldwide Palestine Solidarity campaigns over the next year are also expected to be discussed.
